Guestlist — an event planner with QR check-in

Guestlist is a self-hosted tool for organising events end-to-end: build a guest list, send one invitation email that personalises itself for every guest, track who's coming, and check people in at the door by scanning their own QR code.

Who it's for

This instance was built for the Embassy of Canada in Cairo to manage official events and receptions — organising the guest list, sending branded invitations, collecting RSVPs, and running a smooth, paperless check-in at the door on the day of the event.

How it works

1 Create an event — name, date, location and notes for guests.
2 Build the guest list — import a CSV or add guests one by one, and tag them for easy filtering.
3 Design the invitation — write one email with smart fields ({{first_name}}, {{event_date}}…) so every guest gets a personal version, complete with tables, images and a matching RSVP page.
4 Track replies — guests confirm attending or not on their own RSVP page; you see live counts.
5 Check guests in — scan each guest's unique QR code at the door, or tick them off by hand.
